Invitation to the international career guidance conference under the theme “Career education for South-Eastern Europe – Investment in youth for sustainable economic growth”.
The event will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria on 8th of November 2011 and is gathering career guidance experts and stakeholders from South-East European countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania and Turkey) and other European Union countries. It will provide an opportunity to share experience on the issues of career education and career management skills – areas of career guidance which increasingly gained importance on the European lifelong guidance agenda in recent years.
The conference will also be attended by guidance experts from a number of European member states and offer opportunities for pan-european exchange of views on recent developments in the field of career education. Among the key speakers of the conference are: Prof. Tony Watts (Cambridge/UK), Dr Raimo Vuorinen (ELGPN-European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network) and Mr. Helmut Zelloth (European Training Foundation). The working language will be English.
The Conference is an initiative of the Human Resource Development Centre – HRDC (Bulgaria), in co-operation with the European Training Foundation and the European Lifelong Guidance Policy network (ELGPN).
The HRDC will support your with organization of your participation in the conference by offering you suitable accommodation and traditional social programme.
The organizing institutions cordially ask you to declare your interest in participating in the conference by sending the registration form to euroguidance@hrdc.bg by June 20th, 2011. Please, note that the places for participants are limited!

The Euroguidance Malta annual conference was held on 1st December 2010 and targeted career guidance teachers, trainee career advisors and employment advisors. The theme for the conference was “The Importance of guidance in Education, Training and Lifelong Learning”. The keynote speaker during the conference was Dr. Richard Evans, Council Member of City and Guilds and Member of the Malta Chamber-MCAST Steering Committee. He highlighted the need for a clear guidance strategy with regard to decision-making on educational and training paths. The Euroguidance conference was an opportunity for the participants to learn and enhance their knowledge about the Euroguidance network and the Euroguidance Centre in Malta.

- Presentation 2: A Guidance Strategy for Lifelong Education and Training, presented by Dr. Richard Evans. Dr. Evans also prepared a briefing paper on the topic, which was distributed to all participants.

The Euroguidance Centre in Malta has announced the details of this year’s annual conference, which shall be held on Wednesday 1st December at the Radisson Blue Resort, St. Julian’s, between 8am and 2.30pm. The topic for 2010 shall be “The importance of guidance in Education, Training and Lifelong Learning”.
The keynote speaker of the conference, Dr. Richard Evans, is a Council Member of City and Guilds and Member of the Malta Chamber-MCAST Steering Committee. Dr. Evans shall be highlighting the need for a clear guidance strategy when it comes to deciding on educational and training paths, and will share his personal views on the topic. Particular emphasis will also be placed on education in relation to the industry, with emphasis on presenting requirements that career guidance practitioners need to keep in mind when guiding prospective students on their education and training paths.
